Discover true comfort, capability and craftsmanship.

Rainier is no ordinary SUV. As a strong, full-frame SUV powered by the standard 291 hp Vortec I6 with standard full-time all-wheel drive (AWD), Rainier is also no ordinary Buick. Not that there is anything ordinary about Buick, since every Buick features the StabiliTrak™ vehicle stability enhancement system, OnStar° and a host of QuietTuning measures. Rainier is also distinguished by the fact that it now offers the available 300 hp Vortec 5300 that incorporates Displacement on Demand to significantly improve fuel efficiency. Rainier also features a wealth of premium amenities, including automatic dual-zone climate controls and leather-appointed power eight-way front bucket seats. Strong in a way that only a Buick can be. A History Of Being Complete

The Buick Rainier boasts a rich heritage of both quality and craftsmanship, and now there is even more to be proud of. The 2005 Rainier was the recent winner of Strategic Vision's 2005 Total Quality Award™ for Best Medium SUV Ownership Experience**. This award measures not only performance, but a total driving experience as well, showing once again that Rainier has taken comfort and capability to the next level.

Added Stability Plus Traction

Rainier gives you the confidence of added stability and traction. The StabiliTrak system detects lateral skids, then automatically compensates by adjusting braking and power. The standard all-wheel-drive system and locking differential maximize traction by automatically redistributing engine torque to the wheels with the most grip.

The Sound Of Silence

Rainier's signature quiet ride is the product of QuietTuning, which incorporates 26 acoustic absorbers and seals throughout the vehicle. The instrument panel, chassis and engine idling are each tuned to significantly reduce vibration. Even the tires are engineered to produce a quiet ride, with a unique tread pattern that generates minimal tread noise.

Power - And Fuel Efficiency - On Demand

Want the power of a V8, yet excellent fuel efficiency as well? Now, you can have both with the available aluminum block Vortec 5300 V8 engine. It generates 300 hp and 325 lb.-ft. of torque. For 2006, the engine also employs Displacement on Demand, shutting down four cylinders in low-demand situations to maximize fuel economy.

Make Room - For Passengers And Cargo

Rainier's interior provides spacious and comfortable accommodations for driver and passengers alike. When cargo becomes the order of the day, the rear seats can be folded down to create a flat loading floor that provides a substantial 2269 L (80.1 cu. ft.) of capacity. In addition, an underfloor storage area conceals smaller items.
